Ale Industries

In 2011, I was introduced to a new brewery in Concord called Ale Industries. Through a friend, I found out they were planning to expand from just a small tasting room to bottling their first beers for purchase. This gave me an idea! So, I reached out to the owners and asked what their plans were for their label art and if I could submit some ideas. They were stoked to receive such a proposal, and they loved the idea of a handmade label for a handmade brew. Over the next year, I worked with Ale Industries to create three hand-drawn labels (which are featured below) that were printed on bottles and distributed all over California and the upper North West regions.
My partnership with Ale Industries inspired them to continue showcasing local artists by holding art fair pop-ups monthly, displaying a gallery in their tasting room, and commissioning a different artist for each new beer they bottled. They have since opened a brewery and tasting room in Oakland and have upgraded from bottles to tall cans. It's a great place to grab a beer and support local small businesses and the creative community.

The labels I created for Ale Industries were retired when they made the switch to cans. So, for the fun of it, I decided to reimagine what the cans might look like if these beers were brought back today. I have also included a fun augmented reality experience for each can which allows you to toggle between the ability to place them within your space and also view them up close from all angles. All you have to do is click on the AR icon next to each can to get started. Once you've opened the new window, simply select the icon in the upper right-hand corner and follow the instructions.

Thank you for taking the time to view this work and I hope you enjoy the interactive experience! Should you have any design ideas or drink labels that I can help bring to life, please do not hesitate to reach out. You can send me a direct message in the contact section at the bottom of this page.
